Byron had this great idea that all of us girls get together alone for a weekend. What a special treat it was. We went to the beaches in Oregon about a hundred miles from our Oregon children homes's. It was wonderful to have that time to visit and relax without any interruptions.
As we arrived in Seaside the street was full of these kind of bikes filled with teenagers driving all over. They were having so much fun and we decided we should try them out.Janessa was our fearless driver and we went all around Seaside, seeing the sights. It was a great workout and the scenery was beautiful.
Seaside is a cute typical coast town with all kinds of fun shops to visit. We even went to the outlet mall and checked out a lot of fun stores. You can't get six woman together and expect us not to do some shopping.
Heather was our chauffeur. She drove us to many different coast towns. This pretty lighthouse was near Oceanside.. We visited Octopus Tree, and spent time on the beach writing love notes to our hubby's. We enjoyed the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory, especially their delicious ice cream.
It was Janessa's idea to make smores on the beach but their was a lot of wind so we enjoyed them from the fireplace. I love roasted marshmellows.
While we were gone Doug spent the day with Jared on Friday, on Saturday Mitchell and his girls went over to Jared's and helped Doug watch Jared's children while he was at school. That evening Doug went with Paul and their children to the Portland Children's Parade. He was able to enjoy time with his grandchildren which is great.

We filled the evenings with laughing, games, talking, a movie, delicious food by many great cooks and way too many treats.
This was such a much needed retreat for all of us. I appreciate all of the husband who were willing to part with their wives for the weekend. Hopefully they will let us do this again in two years. I wonder where we will go next?

It was so much fun. I can't wait until we go again also. My favorite part had to be the bike thing at Seaside, it was so much fun. Thanks for the fun ride. :)
