My SISTER Turned the BIG 60!

I forgot about this picture and had to add it. Cathy is wearing her birthday hat to our Hunsaker Reunion the day after her birthday. My cousin Lynn looks like he is having a hard time keeping a straight face. I'm glad that I have a fun family.
Annette, Cathy, Mom, Sherry and Patty on Easter many long years ago.
HAPPY BELATED 60th BIRTHDAY TO CATHY!!!!!
My sister Cathy turned 60 on July 31st. She is in the picture above in the yellow dress. (Mom and I were wearing wiglets at the time, we thought they were pretty stylish. What were we thinking? I couldn't find any pictures of Cathy alone.)
I am so grateful to Cathy for the wonderful example she set for me to follow in my teen years. She is a very talented seamstress, very giving, has a wonderful personality, sings very well. and has a real knack for making a birthday party that no one will ever forget. They is a very devoted Mother and Grandmother.
For her husband's 60th some of their family went to his work at the Salt Lake Community College and decorated his office. They put up caution tape and had the room full of all kinds of birthday gizmo's and gadgets. They had a big party at a restraunt with a lot of extened family. Ken received a lot of crazy gifts and had a lot of fun.
So her husband had to top that. For Cathy they reserved the Cultural Hall at the church and had a huge party inviting their whole ward, many friends and a lot of family came.
It was in mourning of Cathy's youth. They had a coffin and the whole room decorated as Over the hill including the cake. She was totally surprised and had a great time visiting with everyone and enjoying the moment.

It is strange to look at them now and wonder what that fad was all about. At least it added a few inches to out height.
