Just like in the days of the Pioneers

Most of the Beck children at the Blacksmith shop

Beck children riding in a covered wagon.

We had a lot of fun experiencing the life a pioneer would lead in the early days of the Utah Valley. It was fun riding in a wagon like the early pioneers rode in. I felt for those woman who were wearing long dresses with several layers of slip to make our day realistic, even if the temperature was over 100.Posted by Picasa

Some of the Highlights of the Salt Lake Cemetary

Memorial for Hyrum Smith with the Beck family

Memorial for Pres. Hinckley

Bradley showing the memorial for Pres. Harold B. Lee.
It is amazing to see so many markers for I believe 10 Prophets and many other church leaders that we have come to love and appreciate.
We even found one of my relatives, Roy Darley. He played the organ for special groups in the tabernacle for many years.
I could have wandered around that cemetery all day.

Fun at Liberty Park

Rose and Myles enjoying the birds at Tracy Aviary. I think this was Rose's favorite part of the day she was very excited to see all of the birds and watch them fly.
Ally, Doug, Rose and Myles enjoying a rest.
Myles loved feeding the ducks and birds.
He also loved the water.

We enjoyed the program for Aunt Dawna & Friends

We enjoyed the special program that Doug's brother Rob set up for the home that Aunt Dawna lives. Rob & Sharyl children sang several songs and Sara played the violin and Zach played the piano. They are very accomplished musicians.

Tricia's 5 oldest children sang. It was very precious and loved by the Elderly. They all sing very well. I'm glad that we were able to be there. Tricia played the piano for some of her children's songs, it was fun to hear her play songs we remember her playing at home such as "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Mis. Camille sang it beautifully.

Aunt Dawna and two of her friends, they were all so sweet and love Aunt Dawna like we do.

Jay, Doug and Rob with Aunt Dawna after the program. She was smiling except in pictures.

We Made it!!!

Finally we were able to stop by my Aunt Lola and Uncle Mike Yearout's home. They live in Springfield, Oregon. We had a wonderful time visiting and catching up on how everyone is doing. I enjoyed learning more about my Grandpa Darley.Posted by Picasa
