Completed the Hinckley Challenge

I finished and I am so grateful for this wonderful book. Each time I read it I better understand and appreciate it's teaching.

Congratulations! That is a great accomplishment. During the month of January this year, we had a challenge for all the sisters in our ward to read the Book of Mormon in one month. I was stunned! How can I read the book of Mormon in one month?? Then I stopped and thought about how many times I had read a book in a week for entertainment, or even in just a few days. I took the challenge and that book went everywhere with me! It was amazing and enlightening. I plan to issue the challenge every year as long as I'm the RS Pres. I love that book!

I thought 6 months was asking too much. Doug and I were really determined. We kept the Book of Mormon in the bathroom, in the car, we read for hours on Sunday. Both of us at different ends of the couch, relaxed and reading. That doesn't happen very often. After that experience and the new insight it gave me to people who struggle with the things of the world, I hungered for more understanding. Peacefully it has come and I realize that I am only in control of myself. I can try to influence others but in the end they need to choose where they want the turbulence of the world or peace that comes through following Christ. I'm so grateful for the peace the gospel brings. What a comfort it is in this world.
Karla I miss your sweet spirit, how you are able to put into words what I feel in my heart, and your testimony.
I will need to visit your blog more often.
I am a rookie at blogging and I'm still trying to figure out how you do different things.
It sure is a fun way to keep in touch with those who live so far away.
Thanks for keeping in touch.
A Book of Mormon Challenge a year would be so awesome. What a great way to get and keep your priorities straight.
