Relay for Life

Last weekend I was able to participate in a wonderful event, Relay for Life. I was amazed at how many people were involved, around 900 people. Our city raised $35,783, which will go towards helping to find a cure for cancer.

What a great and memorable experience to have. I am sorry that the weather did not cooperate. That is amazing that Corcoran raised so much money for cancer. Little Ole Corcoran!

Patty, I have done Relay for Life before! A couple of years ago, the event was actually hosted at Cortez High School, where I worked. We did it at night and people pitched their tents on the football field so they could take a break and catch a nap if they wanted. It was amazing. All the high schools in our district participated. We had a student at our school that was a cancer survivor. She was such an awesome young lady. I had a luminaire for my mom and sister, who both were cancer survivors. It is such a great event. So glad you could participate!
