Trekkin' Tigers

We were the Trekkin' Tigers!!! Our team was made up of Fremont School Staff and family. This picture is of three sizzling woman: myself, Lora Cartwright, and Pearl Prins. We were literally sizzling, the temperature made it to 103.

For 24 hours members of our team walked the track usually in groups of two. The relay is for24 hours because cancer is with a person 24 hours a day.
Each hour had a theme. We walked in the Hat (at 10 AM) and Disney (at 2:00 PM) laps. Lora and Pearl walked off and on most of the day.

Each team had a boxcar to race. Our car was safari style, made by Pearl. It is below us but didn't make it into the picture.

Cute hat! That is cool that they change the theme per lap.

Patty, that is so neat! I have wanted to be involved in a walk like that here too. I have wondered if my kids could do it with me. Did you see children out there at all? I don't think I would like doing it in the kind of heat you were in though. But then again what kind of heat and pressures are those who have cancer dealing with all the time? One of our dear friends just went through it last year with breast cancer. She was diagnosed at age 30, the mother of 4 children 10 and under. She even had a mastectomy on one side. She is a brave woman and is doing well now. I would love to do it in her honor. Thanks Patty for being a good example and for serving others.

Oh and I actually had the time to write about the baptism on my blog. Sorry I keep adding to it a little at a time, that is how my time comes right now. Love you!
